On 29th April 2017, Sonika and her friend Vikram Chatterjee met with an accident while driving back home from a party at Rashbehari near Lake mall
They both were in critical condition when they were brought to the hospital
Sonika died after 40 to 45 minutes of their accident
Whereas Vikram was later discharged on 4th May 2017
Sonika Chauhan is among the prominent faces of fashion industry
In a very short time, she achieved a lot of fame
Apart from modelling, she was also a fitness enthusiast
Sonika was born on 12th July 1989 in Kolkata
Her mother Sharon Singh is a Christian
Her father Vijay Singh Chauhan is Hindu
He is one of the top racehorse trainers of India
She completed her college from Mount Camel College
Sonika did her schooling at La Martiniere
Sonika participated in Femina Miss India and Miss Diva 2013 and was one of the finalists
Her first television appearance was as a VJ for channel V
She also anchored Pro Kabaddi League in Star Sports
The model hosted a show at NDTV Prime
Her mass service was held at St.Thomas Church, Kolkata
After that she was buried at Lower Circular Road Cemetery
